Noted Hindustani Classical vocalist Dr Atindra Sarvadikar has created Listeners’ Corner - a series of interactive monthly concerts of Indian Classical Music. In these concerts after performance of artists audience are always given an opportunity to interact with the performing artists. Because of such interactions, the audience can learn many much things about Indian classical Music. This will help to enlighten the audience and create good and knowledgeable listeners. Many budding artists may get inspiration from such interactions to take music as their career.
In the year 2017-18 there were 12 such concerts arranged in Mumbai, where noted artists like – Vidushi Archana Kanhere, Pt. Vikas Kashalkar, Dr Milind Malshe, Shri. Omkar Dadarkar, Smt Nandini Bedekar, Pt. Pradip Natekar, Kaustuvkanti Ganguli, Saniya Kulkarni, Amrita Shenoy, Prabhat Rao (UK), Chandrashekhar Vaze, Mukund Dev, Rashmi Paradkar-Sule, Smt. Jyoti Yadwar, Mandar Jadaye, Akshay Tawade etc have performed. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the concept and the concerts and gave not only good but ethical feedback. Almost every episode was house full.
Since January 2019 Listeners’ Corner was reformed to Listeners’ corner - Maharashtra Daura. (लिसनर्स कॉर्नर महाराष्ट्र दौरा) Under this theme, we have aimed to organize these monthly interactive concerts of Indian Classical Music in all districts of Maharashtra. Especially in such areas where the awareness regarding Indian classical music among the listeners is limited. Under this concept till date the concerts were arranged at Kankavli (Dist. Sindhudurg), Shreegonda (Dist. Ahmednagar), Neral (Dist. Raigad), Sangli, Virar (Dist. Dist. Vasai-Virar ) and Latur. In all these cities theese programs were hugely successful and got considerable attention from print as well as digital media. Listeners’ corner is getting wonderful response on social media too.
